Red wine marinade

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 tbsp red wine
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, squeezed or finely chopped
  • 1 tsp tomato puree
  • 1 tsp sambal oelek
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, shake well beforehand
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp oregano, dried or fresh leaves
  • 1 tbsp thyme, dried or freshly chopped
  • 4 bay leaves

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 10 minutes

Perfect for beef

Mix all ingredients thoroughly, add the bay leaves, and then let the marinade stand. After about 30 minutes, remove the bay leaves and coat the meat with the marinade. For best results, let the meat marinate for at least 2-3 hours, or overnight is even better. Note: Before grilling, let the meat rest at room temperature for about 30-45 minutes.
