Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 40 g yeast
  • 30 g sugar
  • 250 ml milk
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g almonds, sweet, chopped
  • 100 g raisins
  • ½ lemon(s), grated peel
  • 1 tbsp candied lemon, chopped
  • 200 g strawberry jam
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Sift flour into a bowl, add yeast, sugar, and 8 tablespoons of the milk to the center. Mix everything together and sprinkle with a little flour. Keep warm until the pre-dough has risen nicely. Mix with the softened butter, almonds, raisins, lemon zest, and candied lemon peel, add the milk, and knead everything into a dough. Let it rise until it has doubled in size. Knead, roll out, and cut out 12 x 12 cm rectangles. Fold in the corners so that the points meet in the center. Put a teaspoon of jam in the center of each loaf, let it rise again, and bake in a preheated oven at 200 – 220 °C (top/bottom heat) for about 20 minutes. Sprinkle with icing sugar.
