Rice Balls
The perfect rice balls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 kg Basmati rice from the previous day
- 2 piece Medium onion
- 3 piece Clove of garlic
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Sunflower oil
- 200 g Grated cheese, e.g. Emmental, Parmesan etc.
- 3 piece Eggs
- Rice flour as needed
- Salt
- Peel the onion and garlic, place in a pan and sauté with olive oil.
- Beat the eggs and add to the rice, add the grated cheese, onion and garlic and mix well. Add enough rice flour to form 4 cm balls with wet hands. Put the rice balls in a pan with hot sunflower oil and fry until golden brown.
- By deep-frying the rice grains become a little hard on the surface. If you don’t want that, you can bread them beforehand (flour, egg, breadcrumbs). The taste can be varied by adding spices. Since the basmati rice has a strong taste of its own, I decided not to use it.
