Roswitha's homemade marzipan

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g almonds, whole
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

without rose water

Sift the powdered sugar very finely (twice if using a coarse-mesh sieve!). Peel the almonds yourself (to do this, scald them in boiling water, let them sit for a while, and then press them out of the skins). Place them in the food processor and grind as finely as possible. Add the sifted powdered sugar and the egg yolk and continue mixing until thickened. Add a little more water if necessary. Remove the almond mixture from the processor and knead it together with your hands. Shape it into a roll, figures, etc. as desired. If the marzipan is not being consumed immediately, place it in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for short-term storage; freeze it for longer storage. This marzipan is easy to make and produces a fine raw mass that is suitable for decorating, making pralines, and baking.
