Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 large can of tomatoes
  • 150 g tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp basil, dried
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 500 g minced meat
  • some pepper, black

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Heat the olive oil in a large pot. Peel and chop the onions, then sauté in the oil until translucent. Peel and chop the garlic cloves, then sauté briefly. Roughly chop the canned tomatoes and add them to the pot with the remaining ingredients (except the minced meat). Bring to a boil and simmer for 25 minutes. Then add the minced meat and simmer for about 10 minutes longer. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and sugar. We like to serve this with spiral pasta, which absorbs the sauce so well.
