Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 50 g almonds
  • 75 g sugar
  • butter
  • 100 g cream cheese
  • 100 g feta cheese
  • 30 g Ajvar, hot
  • 12 dates, dried
  • 6 slice(s) bacon, depending on size

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Bacon-wrapped dates with a twist. Sweet, spicy, and salty!

Caramelize the almonds with the sugar and butter. Don’t worry if it caramelizes into a block—it’s actually desirable! Break the block into small pieces. Mix the cream cheese and feta, season with ajvar to taste, creating a paste that’s as spicy as you like. Pit the dates, fill them generously with the paste and a crispy caramelized almond, wrap them in bacon, and fry in a pan. They taste delicious both hot and cold. Set aside any leftover almonds for snacking. The paste makes a great spread if you have any leftovers.
