Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 gherkins
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • salt and pepper
  • 8 slice(s) toast bread (sandwich toast)
  • 1 head of lettuce, small
  • 100 g ham, cooked (wafer-thin)
  • 2 tbsp onion(s) (fried onions)
  • 100 g blue cheese
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 30 g bacon, smoked streaky
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Thinly slice the gherkins. Mix the mustard and honey together and season with salt and pepper. Toast 4 slices of toast and cut them in half diagonally. Top each half with a lettuce leaf, cooked ham, and gherkin. Drizzle with the sauce. Sprinkle with fried onions. Place the other half on top. Cut the cheese into thin pieces. Slice the tomatoes. Cut the bacon into pieces and fry in a hot pan until crispy, then drain. Toast the remaining slices of toast, cut them in half diagonally, and spread with mayonnaise. Top with lettuce leaves, cheese, tomatoes, and bacon.
