Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 3 liters of cloudy apple juice
- 4 stalk(s) cinnamon
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 oranges
- clove(s)
- 500 ml whiskey
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
Pour apple juice into a large saucepan. Cut the oranges into 1-2 cm thick slices and insert a clove into each slice. Add the orange zest, cinnamon sticks, honey, and vanilla sugar to the apple juice and heat gently. Do not boil! Stir occasionally to ensure a smooth liquid is formed. When the punch is nice and hot, turn off the stove and let it steep for about 10-15 minutes. Pour about 6 cl of whiskey into a cup and top up with the apple juice punch. I thought the mixture was very good as it was. I used a mid-range blend (Scotch). I recommend choosing one with a hint of caramel. Bourbon would also work, depending on your taste.
