Sausage dumplings from mom

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 slices of white bread
  • 1 ring/s meat sausage, small ring
  • 4 eggs
  • n. B. Flour
  • Salt
  • a few stalks of parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Soak the bread in water until soft, then squeeze out the excess water. Meanwhile, cut the sausage into small cubes and chop the parsley. Combine everything in a bowl with the eggs and salt and knead. Add flour a little at a time until a firm dough forms. With wet hands, form dumplings and place them in boiling salted water. Cook the dumplings in gently simmering water for about 20 to 30 minutes, depending on their size. Serve with roast beef or pork.
