Saxon leek and chicory soup with ham

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 potatoes
  • 2 stalk(s) leeks
  • 4 chicory
  • 2 onions
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 ½ liters of milk
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Vegetable broth, instant
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • Oil for frying
  • n. B. Chives in rolls, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Clean, wash, and finely chop the vegetables. Sauté in oil, season with salt and pepper. Add approximately 1.5 liters of milk, adding a little vegetable stock if desired. Simmer gently for 20 minutes, then add the cream. Dice the ham and add it as well. Season again with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Garnish with chives, if desired.
