Semolina casserole with cherries

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • ½ liter of milk
  • 65 g margarine
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 g semolina
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 jar morello cherries
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Drain the morello cherries. Bring the milk to a boil with margarine and salt. Sprinkle in the semolina and stir until the dough pulls away from the bottom of the pan. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until frothy. Add and mix with the semolina mixture. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into the mixture. Then add the drained morello cherries. Pour the mixture into a greased dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 60 minutes. Serve immediately. Vanilla sauce goes well with this.
