Spread the love

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 800 g shrimp or prawns (frozen)
  • 125 g herb butter (approx. 3/4 roll)
  • 8 slices of toast
  • 200 g cheese (e.g. Emmental), grated
  • some fat

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Shrimp on toast topped with cheese

Heat some fat in a pan and add the shrimp or prawns, then thaw. Note: Frozen shrimp retain a lot of water, so I don’t know if the same will happen with fresh ones, so drain the water about 3-4 times. Then fry the shrimp in the pan for about 15 minutes and then add the herb butter. Melt the herb butter, stirring constantly. Preheat the oven to 150°C to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Place the slices of toast on a baking sheet, arrange the shrimp from the pan on top, and sprinkle with cheese. Bake in the hot oven on the middle rack for about 10 minutes. Serve hot.
