Simple cream sauce for pasta and co.

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • some bacon (smoked bacon), finely chopped
  • 1 cup of cream
  • possibly pepper or other spices of your choice

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

quick and easy to prepare

Brown the bacon in a pan or small pot until quite dark (preferably without using any additional fat). Don’t drain the fat that renders from the bacon. Add the cream to the bacon in the pot and bring to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent it from burning. Let the sauce simmer until it thickens and begins to turn darker (yellowish). Season to taste, but this isn’t absolutely necessary. I occasionally add some freshly ground pepper. The intensity of the flavor always depends on the cooking time, so you should taste and decide how long that is. This sauce goes well with pasta or similar dishes, as it’s similar to a carbonara sauce but doesn’t contain any eggs.
