Simple Gruel

The perfect simple gruel recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 300 ml Vegetable broth
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 2 tbsp Cream cheese
  • Black pepper from the mill
  • Salt
  • 3 Discs Bacon
  • 1 small Onion
  • Flour
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Parsely
  1. Heat the butter in a saucepan and briefly sweat the flour in it. Deglaze with vegetable stock and milk and season to taste with a little pepper and salt and simmer gently on a low heat for a good 10 minutes.
  2. Halve the bacon slices and fry until crispy. Degrease on crepe
  3. Peel, halve and slice the onion. Then roll in flour and fry in butter until crispy. Degrease on crepe.
  4. Finely chop the parsley leaves.
  5. Remove the soup from the stove and stir in the cream cheese. Season the soup again with the spices.
