Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g low-fat quark, 0.2% fat or natural skyr
  • 250 g spelt flour or wheat flour, type 405
  • some salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • possibly linseed meal
  • possibly sunflower seeds
  • possibly pumpkin seeds
  • possibly oat flakes, fine

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

vegetarian, quick and easy

Preheat oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Then add the egg and low-fat curd cheese. You can now add various grains as desired. Knead everything well by hand and shape into a loaf. Place the loaf on the oven rack and brush with water, or simply hold it under running water beforehand. The water creates a nice crust. Now sprinkle with grains. Press the grains down lightly, otherwise they will burn. I also place a cereal bowl filled with water at the bottom of the oven, but this isn’t absolutely necessary. Bake the bread for about 40 minutes. Let it cool completely before slicing. If it isn’t completely cool, it won’t slice easily. It will have a hard crust at first, but this will soften after a few hours.
