Smarties cookies

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp beet syrup
  • 200 g butter, soft
  • 2 eggs
  • 400 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 250 g candy(s) (Smarties)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Ideal for children’s birthdays and all year round! For 30 pieces

Mix the sugar and syrup in a bowl with a hand mixer until there are no more lumps. Stir in the butter, then add the eggs and mix everything well. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan/convection oven). Mix the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon and stir into the other ingredients with a hand mixer. Add the Smarties to the batter and mix in with a wooden spoon. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Use a tablespoon to scoop out portions of the dough, shape them into balls and place them 8 cm apart on the tray. Bake the cookies in the oven for about 15 minutes until the edges are light brown. Let them cool on the tray. These cookies are a hit with small children. My four-year-old niece wants them again. They are also ideal for large gatherings such as christenings or Easter parties.
