Smoked pork with sour cream

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg smoked pork (neck)
  • 3 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 3 tbsp oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 1 day 3 hours 5 minutes

East Prussian style – according to Grandma Frieda

It’s best prepared a day in advance. Heat the oil in a casserole dish and sear the meat on all sides. Then add the sour cream and let it simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally. The next day, the sauce will be nicely infused with the flavorful meat and no further seasoning is needed. Simmer for another hour. This goes best with plain boiled potatoes.
