Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg boiled potatoes
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 rolls, finely sliced
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • some clarified butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Side dish for mushroom broth

Mash the boiled potatoes while hot and mix with the eggs and finely sliced ​​bread rolls. Mix with salt, knead the mixture thoroughly, and form about 8 dumplings. Flatten the snowball dumplings slightly and poke a hole in the top of each one with the handle of a wooden spoon. Then place the dumplings in a well-greased baking dish and bake in the oven at a high temperature (approx. 220°C, top/bottom heat) for about 30 minutes. Brush the tops of the dumplings with clarified butter occasionally.
