Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg boiled potatoes
- 4 eggs
- 5 rolls, finely sliced
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- some clarified butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Side dish for mushroom broth
Mash the boiled potatoes while hot and mix with the eggs and finely sliced bread rolls. Mix with salt, knead the mixture thoroughly, and form about 8 dumplings. Flatten the snowball dumplings slightly and poke a hole in the top of each one with the handle of a wooden spoon. Then place the dumplings in a well-greased baking dish and bake in the oven at a high temperature (approx. 220°C, top/bottom heat) for about 30 minutes. Brush the tops of the dumplings with clarified butter occasionally.
