Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g pork or poultry, shredded
  • 2 cups sour cream (200 g)
  • 150 g gherkins
  • 100 ml tomato ketchup, possibly more
  • 200 ml water
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp cucumber juice
  • 1 tsp, crushed paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 pinch(s) of salt and pepper
  • some vegetable oil or frying fat for frying

Sliced ​​meat in tomato and sour cream sauce

Cut the gherkins into thin slices. Sear the meat and set aside. Then, in the same pan, sauté the sliced ​​gherkins with the tomato paste and deglaze with water. Then stir in the sour cream. Then add the seared meat, ketchup, and pickle juice and let simmer for at least 15 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally. After the ten minutes are up, season the strips with pepper, salt, paprika, and, if desired, pickle juice. This dish goes well with tagliatelle, spaetzle, or boiled potatoes, which are also excellent at the same time.
