Spelled Quark Rolls

The perfect spelled quark rolls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Lowfat quark
  • 50 g Butter
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Maple syrup
  • 300 g Spelled flour
  • 80 ml Lukewarm water
  • 1 packet Dry yeast
  1. Mix the quark with the butter, salt and maple syrup. Mix flour with yeast and add to the other ingredients with water and knead everything well! I used the bread maker to knead and let go! Cover and let rise for approx. 45 minutes without BBA dough!
  2. Put the dough on a floured work surface and also flour the dough! It’s a bit sticky and very fluffy! Knead the dough well and form 10 balls out of it.

Preheat oven to 220 degrees!

  1. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper! Put about 6 tablespoons of water around the rolls and move the baking sheet back and forth until the water is nicely distributed around all the rolls!
  2. Then bake the rolls until they are golden brown! About 20 minutes.
  3. Tap the bottom of the bun, if it sounds hollow, you’re done! 🙂
