Ingredients for 5 servings:
- 500 g wholemeal spelt flour
- 345 ml water, lukewarm
- 1 bag(s) of yeast, 25 g
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 tbsp oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 17 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 42 minutes
if desired also with seeds or poppy seeds
Knead the flour and all other ingredients thoroughly with a mixer. It’s best to dissolve the yeast in a measuring jug with lukewarm water before adding it to the flour, sugar, and salt. Cover and let everything rise in a warm place for 45 minutes. Dust with a little more flour and form into 8-10 rolls. Rub them with a little water and place an ovenproof dish filled with water in the oven. Let the rolls rise for 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 50°C (top/bottom heat). Then increase the temperature to 230°C (450°F) and bake for 14-17 minutes, depending on your taste.
