Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 5 carnations
  • 1 large garlic clove(s)
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • ½ cm ginger, fresh or 0.5 tsp dried ginger
  • 10 peppercorns
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 liter vinegar, light

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 14 days; Total time approx. 14 days 15 minutes

Grind the mustard seeds and cloves in a mortar and pestle. Grind the remaining ingredients and pour into a wide-mouthed bottle. Pour in the vinegar and place in a sunny window for about two weeks. Then strain through a sieve and pour into smaller bottles. It tastes delicious with any hearty salad and smells wonderful.
