  • 2 Onions
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Raw cane sugar
  • 2 tbsp Butter

Instructions

  • 1 Dice the onion very finely and then heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion until golden brown, then degrease it on paper towels and add a little salt.
  • Now finely dice the other onion. Quarter, peel and core the apples and cut the apples into fine pieces. Now melt the butter in a pan and steam the onions and apples until translucent.
  • Then add the raw cane sugar and simmer for another 5 minutes while stirring until it is nice and soft. Then put everything in a tall vessel and puree finely with the magic wand and then pour the puree into a bowl.
  • Now season the apple and onion puree with salt and pepper and fold in the golden brown onion cubes, pour into a bowl and let it set in the refrigerator.

tip

  • The spread tastes best on fresh, home-baked bread and when sprinkled with a touch of pimento d'Espelette shortly before consumption.
