Spicy beef in peanut sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g beef
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 6 chili peppers, from the brine, pitted, finely chopped
  • ½ cup Tabasco, green
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 200 ml cream
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • possibly sauce thickener

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces. Whisk together the egg, cornstarch, pepper, sugar, water, soy sauce, chili peppers, and green Tabasco to make a marinade. Marinate the meat in this marinade for about 30 minutes. Peel and finely chop the onion, remove the meat from the marinade (not with the marinade), and fry it thoroughly with the chopped onion. A wok is best for this, but a deep pan that conducts heat well will also work. To make the peanut sauce, remove the meat from the wok (or pan) and keep warm. Deglaze the pan with the marinade and cream, and bring to a boil with the peanut butter and a little sauce thickener, if desired. Season to taste. I recommend rice and bacon-fried beans as side dishes.
