Spicy filled knackwurst

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 pieces of sausage (knackwurst)
  • 100 g bacon (hamburger bacon)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 small green bell pepper(s)
  • 100 g cheese (Emmental)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 packs of puff pastry
  • pepper
  • oregano
  • Parsley
  • 1 egg(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Halve the sausages lengthwise and scoop out some of the insides with a spoon. Finely dice the resulting sausage, along with the bacon, Emmental cheese, and bell peppers. Sauté the onion and garlic, sausage, and bell peppers, and let cool. Mix the tomato paste, cheese, and seasonings into the cooled mixture and fill the sausages. Join the two halves together and wrap in puff pastry. Brush with egg and bake in the oven on the middle rack at 140°C for about 20 minutes.
