Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 5 rolls, stale
  • 175 g bacon
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 200 g cheese (Holland Gouda), medium-aged
  • ¼ liter cream
  • ⅛ liter milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g quark (20% fat)
  • salt and pepper
  • Butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the rolls into slices about 1 centimeter thick. Finely dice the bacon. Peel and chop the onion. First, fry the bacon, then sauté the onions in it until softened. Wash and finely chop the parsley. Coarsely grate the cheese. In a buttered casserole dish, alternate layers of rolls, onions, cheese, and parsley. Top with cheese. Mix the cream, milk, eggs, and quark, season with salt and pepper, and pour over the casserole. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes.
