Spinach snails

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g leaf spinach (frozen)
  • 1 pc. puff pastry from the refrigerated section
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • 100 g cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

simple and very tasty

Defrost the spinach and preheat the oven according to the package instructions for the puff pastry. Mix the spinach and cream cheese together in a bowl and season with spices. Then stir in the grated cheese (reserve a little for sprinkling!). Roll out the puff pastry, spread the spinach and cheese mixture evenly over it (this works best with a sturdy fork), leaving a small edge free on one side. Then roll the puff pastry up along the short side (the free end forms the seam). Using a sharp knife (otherwise the snails will be quite flat), cut into strips about 3 cm wide and place in the oven (I use a wire rack lined with baking paper for this). Bake for about 15-20 minutes. Sprinkle a little more cheese over the snails 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Let cool slightly and serve.
