Starter: Börek with Goat Cheese and Walnuts

  • 16 piece Yufka pastry sheets approx. 15x20cm
  • 150 g Goat cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp Honey liquid
  • 50 g Chopped walnuts
  • 3 tbsp Liquid butter
  • 1 Egg yolk
  1. Mix the walnuts and honey.
  2. 8 Brush the pastry sheets with butter. Place the remaining 8 sheets on top.
  3. Place a dollop of cream cheese on top of each of the leaves and some of the nut-honey mixture (about a third).
  4. Brush the edges with whisked egg yolks, fold them up and brush the surface with egg yolks.
  5. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 ° C for about 20-25 minutes.
  6. Serve lukewarm (this is how they taste best) or cold.
