Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg strawberries, frozen
  • 600 ml strawberry juice
  • 600 ml brown rum, 54%
  • 400 g sugar
  • 120 ml lemon juice
  • 5 packs of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 35 minutes

with rum and lemon juice

Bring the strawberries and strawberry juice to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Then puree in a saucepan. Add the sugar and vanilla sugar and simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently to avoid burning. Add the lemon juice and rum, stir, and pour into glass bottles while still warm. Let it steep for at least a day.
