Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • ½ lemon(s), grated peel or some juice
  • 175 g sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 200 g flour, type 405
  • some milk
  • 1 kg apples, sour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 g almond flakes
  • e.g. cinnamon
  • Fat, for the shape

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Mix the batter ingredients in the order listed, excluding the egg whites. Beat the 4 egg whites until stiff. Stir the stiffly beaten egg whites into the remaining batter, adding a splash of milk to make the batter more fluid (before folding the egg whites into the batter). Grease a tart tin, line it with baking paper, or dust it with breadcrumbs, and pour in the batter. Peel, core, and eighth the apples. Place the apples on the batter and sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon (if desired), and almonds. Bake at 180°C (top and bottom heat) for about 50 minutes.
