Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 red chili pepper(s)
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- 60 ml water
- 50 g sugar
- 50 ml white vinegar (spirit vinegar/brandy vinegar)
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 18 minutes
Chicken sauce
To prepare, finely chop the chili pepper and garlic clove and, if desired, briefly grind them again. Combine the 60 ml of water with the sugar, vinegar, and salt in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer. Once dissolved, add the chopped or ground chili and garlic mixture, reduce the heat slightly, and simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Then mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water and stir into the sauce. Continue heating gently until the desired consistency is reached, then immediately remove from the heat (remember that the sauce will thicken slightly more after cooling).
