Sweet potato – orange – porridge (baby porridge)

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 m.-sized sweet potato(s)
  • 2 tbsp orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tbsp milk powder (baby milk, e.g. follow-on milk)
  • 1 tsp oil (rapeseed oil)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Unseasoned baby food made from baked sweet potato and freshly squeezed orange juice – from approx. 7 months

Place the sweet potato, still with its skin, in an ovenproof dish and bake in the oven at 200°C (400°F) until tender (use a toothpick to test if it’s tender; this can take up to 1 hour). Let it cool briefly and then peel off the skin. Blend with the orange juice, rapeseed oil, and baby milk (avoid cow’s milk if possible until the baby is 1 year old) until it forms a smooth puree. Sweet potatoes and oranges are good sources of vitamins. The combination of these two ingredients creates a sweet but healthy meal that was my daughter’s favorite puree. Suitable for ages 7 months and up (but depends on the individual development of each child!!!).
