Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 1 slice of toast
- 8 slices of Gruyère
- 100 ml white wine
- 200 ml whipped cream
- 3 eggs
- nutmeg
- Parsley
- margarine

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Grease a loaf pan with margarine. Preheat the oven to 220°C or 200°C fan-assisted oven. Arrange the slices of bread in the pan in a shingle-like pattern. Place a slice of Gruyère between each slice. The mixture can fall apart slightly. Whisk the eggs with the whipped cream. Mix with the wine and cream. Season with nutmeg. Then pour over the slices of bread and sprinkle with the chopped parsley. Bake for about 30 minutes. Cover with aluminum foil if the bread is getting too brown. This recipe can, of course, be varied with ham, other cheeses (e.g., raclette cheese), other bread, or tomato slices.
