Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 170 g flour
  • 80 g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 250 g sugar
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 250 ml buttermilk
  • 5 drops butter-vanilla flavoring
  • 125 g butter, soft
  • 125 ml whipped cream, whipped

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Grease a deep, round cake pan with melted butter or oil, or line it with parchment paper. Sift flour, cocoa, and baking soda into a large bowl and add the sugar. Combine the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract, and butter and pour over the remaining ingredients. Beat on low with a mixer for 3 minutes. Beat on high for 5 minutes until no lumps remain. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the surface. Bake for 50 minutes. Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes. Then cool on a wire rack. Cut the cake in half and fill with whipped cream (or chocolate cream).
