Who should not eat cherries and why they are dangerous? Endocrinologist and nutritionist Tatiana Bocharova told us what foods are best not to combine cherries with.
According to the doctor, the daily intake of sweet cherries is up to 200 grams for a healthy adult who does not have such diagnoses as acute gastritis or diabetes.
“If you have gastritis but really want to eat a few berries, do not combine them with sour or semi-sour foods: raspberries, cherries, grapes, plums, apples, and especially citrus fruits,” said Bocharova.
According to the doctor, the combination of cherries and legumes is harmful. You should not eat the berry for dessert after soup with beans or pea porridge.
Both sweet cherries and legumes can individually provoke bloating and increased gas formation. The combination of these products increases the likelihood of intestinal problems.
According to the doctor, you should not eat cherries immediately after a meal. It is better to wait at least 30 minutes – in this case, the berry will have a positive effect on the digestive system.
