Toast with ham and peach à la Didi

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of sandwich toast
  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • 4 slices of processed cheese, Edam
  • 4 peach halves
  • 2 tomatoes, optional
  • 8 basil leaves, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place a slice of cooked ham on each slice. Top with a peach half and a slice of cheese. Place the baking sheet on the second rack from the top of the preheated oven and bake the bread using top heat or grill for about 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Arrange and serve. Variations: Place two tomato slices on each slice of ham, then the peach and cheese. Or place two basil leaves on each of the tomatoes, then another layer of peach and cheese.
