Tomato ketchup with onions

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • 1 kg onion(s)
  • 500 g brown sugar
  • 150 ml vinegar, or more to taste
  • 2 tbsp mild mustard
  • 1 tbsp spice mix
  • Cayenne pepper
  • nutmeg and
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Peel the vegetables, slice them thinly, and simmer in a saucepan for 30 minutes. Strain thoroughly and add the vinegar, mustard, and sugar. Allow to thicken over low heat. Season to taste with salt and spices. Transfer to clean bottles or jars and seal airtight.
