Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 liter tomato(s), pureed
- 400 ml beef broth
- 1 large onion(s), chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 carrots, cut into small cubes
- 100 g herbs (Italian herbs), frozen
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 4 tsp sugar
- salt and pepper
- Paprika powder, hot
- Extra virgin olive oil
- herbs, chopped
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Heat some olive oil in a saucepan and sauté the onions and garlic. Add the tomato paste and carrots and sauté. Pour in the broth and add the passata. Add the sugar and Italian herbs and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes. Then puree everything with a hand blender and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and herbs.
