Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 850 ml tomato(s) , from the can
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • Salt
  • Pepper, white
  • Sugar
  • oregano
  • Herbs of Provence
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Heat olive oil in a 2-3 liter saucepan. Finely chop the onion, add it, and sauté until translucent, along with the crushed garlic. Sauté briefly; don’t let the garlic brown. Puree the canned tomatoes. Add to the pan, add tomato paste, and season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar. Simmer gently uncovered for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Finally, season the tomato sauce with salt, pepper, oregano, and, if desired, herbs de Provence. This pairs perfectly with fillet steak and spaghetti.
