Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 4 slices of toast (wholemeal toast), 2 cold meatballs
- 4 slices of cheese (e.g. sliced cheese)
- 4 tomatoes
- 1 onion(s)
- herb salt and pepper
- Oregano and basil
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Place two slices of toast next to each other on an (oven-proof) plate. Halve the meatballs horizontally. Place half a meatball on each slice of toast and then a slice of cheese on top. Slice the tomatoes and arrange them over and around the meatballs. Peel the onions, slice them into rings, and garnish the toast. Season to taste with herb salt, pepper, and herbs (e.g. basil and oregano). Bake on the plate in the oven at around 170°C until the onions are lightly browned and the cheese has melted (around 20 minutes). If the meatballs are a bit thicker, or if you are not placing them halved on the toast, we recommend warming them briefly in the microwave first.
