Fast and tasty

The meat is finely shredded and seasoned with salt and pepper. Then sear it in butter. Peel the potatoes and onions and slice them into thin rings or slices using a cucumber slicer (or knife). Grease a casserole dish with butter and sprinkle with garlic powder. Fill the dish as follows: one layer of potatoes, salt, pepper, one layer of onions, one layer of meat, salt, pepper, knobs of butter, and some of the cheese. Then repeat: potatoes, salt, pepper, onions, meat, etc. Cover with cheese and dot with knobs of butter. Mix the milk with the cream, season with salt and pepper, and pour over the casserole. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 45-60 minutes (depending on the oven) until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden brown.
