Turkey steaks topped with onions

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • oil
  • 600 g turkey breast, whole
  • 1 tsp broth
  • 250 g cream
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 150 g cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • Thyme
  • Parsley, flat

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the onions and slice into thin rings. Wash the turkey breast, pat dry, halve lengthwise, and then cut into 8 steaks. Cut the bacon into thirds and fry in hot oil until crispy. Remove and briefly sear the steaks on each side, season with salt and pepper, and place in a greased baking dish. If necessary, add a little more oil to the frying fat and fry the onion rings until golden brown. Remove half of the onions and set aside. Dust the remaining onions with flour, sauté briefly, and bring to a boil with 1/4 l water, the cream, and the stock for about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Pour the sauce over the meat. Sprinkle with the remaining onion rings, bacon, and cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C. Garnish with parsley.
