Turkish Crispy Rings with Sesame Seeds
The perfect turkish crispy rings with sesame seeds recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Butter or margarine (or 1/2 butter and 1/2 margarine)
- 175 ml Oil
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 1 packet Baking powder
- 100 ml Water
- 2 tbsp Yogurt
- Flour as needed, 1 kg or a little more
- For painting:
- 2 Whisk eggs with a little milk
- To sprinkle:
- Sesame unroasted
- Mix the oil with butter / margarine or a mixture of both, sugar, salt, vanilla sugar, baking powder and yoghurt until creamy. Now add the water.
- Now work in as much flour until a smooth and no longer sticky dough is formed.
- Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC (fan oven 160ºC) and line two baking trays with baking paper. Put the eggs with a little milk in a deep plate and whisk.
- Put the sesame seeds on a plate and prepare them.
- Now shape the dough into small 20 g balls, roll them out into a small roll of approx. 14 cm and then shape into a ring. Connect the ends well.
- Now dip the rings from one side only into the egg mixture, then into the sesame.
- Place the finished rings on the baking sheet and bake the pastries for 25-30 minutes.
- Let cool down, then place on a wire rack and let cool down completely.
- Let cool and store in an airtight container.
