Vanilla Pudding (homemade)

The perfect vanilla pudding (homemade) recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Vanilla pod “Tahitensis” = Tahitian vanilla
  • 500 ml Milk or 250 ml milk and 250 ml cream
  • 3 Egg yolk size M
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 35 g Food starch
  1. Halve the vanilla pod lengthways, scrape out the pulp and pour into 350 ml milk, add the scraped out vanilla pod and bring to the boil.
  2. Mix 150 ml milk, 3 egg yolks, 50 g sugar and 35 g cornstarch well with a whisk. Remove the pod from the milk and stir the starch mixture into the boiling milk, bring to the boil and continue to simmer for about 1-2 minutes while stirring.
  3. Divide the pudding on 4 dessert bowls, let them cool and serve with fruits, red fruit jelly or chocolate sauce.
