Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 50 g butter, soft
  • 25 g brown sugar, to taste
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 large egg(s)
  • 75 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder, level
  • 125 g crème fraîche
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds, heaped
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

for brunch, breakfast or coffee

Cream together the butter, sugar, and salt. Add the egg and maple syrup and beat until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, poppy seeds, and baking powder and stir in. Stir in the crème fraîche. Bake the waffles in batches in the hot waffle iron and serve warm. The baking time varies depending on the waffle iron.
