Warm French apple tart

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 150 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g butter
  • 150 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 kg apples
  • 1 handful of almond flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Beat the sugar and eggs until frothy. Add the sifted flour with the baking powder and continue beating. Add the salt and vanilla sugar. Meanwhile, melt the butter. Stir the hot butter and milk into the batter. The batter will be very runny, similar to pancake batter. Now slice the peeled, cored apples into the batter using a cucumber slicer. There will be about the same number of apples as batter. Place in a springform pan (cover with aluminum foil if necessary) and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (top/bottom heat) for 45 minutes. Halfway through baking, sprinkle a few almond slivers and a little more sugar over the cake, and perhaps some herbs de Provence.
