Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g cheese (Chester cheese)
  • 25 g butter
  • Salt and pepper, white
  • 1 pinch of mustard seeds, ground
  • 6 tbsp beer, light
  • 4 slices of toast
  • 50 g tomatoes
  • 2 sprigs of parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cheese specialty from England

Coarsely grate the cheese. Heat the butter in a saucepan. Add the cheese. Melt for 5 minutes, stirring, until melted. Season with salt, pepper, and mustard powder. Stir the cheese mixture into the beer until smooth. Toast the bread on both sides. Spread the cheese mixture on one side. Place under the preheated grill and bake for 3 minutes. Arrange on four preheated plates. Wash the tomatoes and remove the stems. Cut the tomatoes into eighths. Pat the parsley dry and tear it apart. Serve garnished with two tomato eighths and parsley.
