Western-style Leberkäse

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 large carrot(s)
  • 2 stalk(s) spring onion(s)
  • 1 small can of corn
  • 400 g Leberkäse
  • 1 cup of cooking cream
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • some salt and pepper
  • 2 tsp vegetable broth
  • possibly milk or crème fraîche

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cut the Leberkäse into cubes and fry. When it’s nicely browned, add the sliced carrot. I then pour a little water into the pan so the carrots cook until al dente. Then add the spring onions, also sliced, and the corn. While the vegetables are cooking, make the sauce in a bowl. Mix the cream with the broth, tomato paste, and garlic. If that’s not enough sauce for you, you can dilute it with a little milk or crème fraîche. Season the vegetables and Leberkäse with salt and pepper, then pour in the sauce and let simmer for another two or three minutes. We served it with rice.
