  • 3 tsp heaped honey, e.g. Christmas honey
  • 100 ml whiskey e.g. E.g. Jack Daniel’s
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 2 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 12 minutes

tailored for BBQ dishes

Heat the olive oil in a sauté pan or small saucepan. Slice the onions, add them to the sauté pan, and fry until translucent, stirring occasionally. Then add the honey and caramelize for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Now add the whiskey, bring to a boil, and light it with a lighter (be careful with extractor hoods!). The flame will go out on its own. Stir everything well occasionally. Once the heat is out, the onions are ready and can be transferred to a jar.
