White cabbage pot with minced meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg white cabbage
  • 100 g smoked bacon (dried meat)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • Salt and pepper, black
  • ½ tsp caraway seeds
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • ½ cup sour cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Trim, quarter, and wash the white cabbage, and remove the stalks. Cut the cabbage into thin strips. Finely dice the bacon and fry in a large pot with oil until crispy. Add the minced meat and fry until crumbly. Season with salt and pepper, then remove from the pot. Add the cabbage to the frying fat and sauté. Deglaze with 3/8 liter of water and bring to a boil. Stir in the caraway seeds and sugar. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes. After 20 minutes, stir in the minced meat. Finally, stir the sour cream into the cabbage. Season with salt and pepper. Mashed potatoes go very well with this dish.
